What firm statement by the JCA & the RIU, suggesting/imposing a disqualification as a penalty for someone who is no longer in the greyhound business. That will really teach the serial (now four time) offender a lesson. 9_9

FFS! Stick to the issues at hand. Jason may or may not be this that or the other, but that has absolutely NO relevence to matters currently before us. Field selection is a major issue in the CD because of the conflicts of interest that exist at both clubs, yes both clubs. I am NOT making accusations against the people involved, BUT, while those conflicts exist, the complaints will continue to roll in. Moving to centralisation is long past due!

The club system does NOT work. Too many influencers, too many conflicts of interest. Let's get serious and move forward.

Was told last night that a report in to the running of the Wanganui Club was tabled this week. I will be very interested to hear from a member of the club what the conclusions were, and what remedial work is to be undertaken.

Just finished reading the transcript. Who needs a lawyer when the prosecution argues the case down for you. The defendent would have been laughing all the way home. Compare the case of contaminated kibble with this comedy. In the absence of any evidence to say the defendent was solely responsible for the positives, the outcome should have been one of example. The evidence presented states that the substance needed to be injected.  How then would that happen in the kennel block? The dog would have to be removed from the kennel or the perpetrator used a bloody long needle while the dog stood perfectly still. To the JCA's credit, they did not substitute the previous penalty. Anyone see the bus tickets raining from the sky that day?

Have you not heard the story of a certain trainer being allowed back into the kennel block after kenneling to “enhance” his dogs behind closed doors

it was a long time ago but I’m sure some of you older trainers would remember it

Sorry Kiwi, no I havent. But to believe that as a possibility now would be a very long stretch with, or without cameras. The other concern I have is deflecting culpability. Most would have no knowledge of this specific chemical, and most couldn't afford the quoted $200 cost to nobble someone else's dog. That kind of behaviour would require an intense level of hate. Also the high risk of getting caught would be a great deterent, especially given the positives occurred on different dates. That's more than one attempt.

If you stop say 40 imports coming into this country and people breed maybe 30 more litters because of this, ( just figures pulled out of the air ) do you think there will be more or less dogs needing to be re homed ?
