Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 20, 2019 Journalists Share Posted May 20, 2019 Trainer David Lanigan has decided to skip Royal Ascot with his high class filly Worth Waiting (GB) (Bated Breath {GB}) in favour of a crack at the G1 Juddmonte Pretty Polly S. at The Curragh June 28. The Saif Ali owned 4-year-old was very progressive last year winning four times and finished up the season running fourth in the G1 Qatar Prix Vermeille at ParisLongchamp in September. She then made a perfect reappearance when winning the G2 Charm Spirit Dahlia S. at Newmarket on Guineas weekend. “We are going to wait for the Pretty Polly. She had quite a hard race last time out and going to the Curragh just gives her plenty of time to get over it. She came out of the race well and is in great order and I’m really happy with her,” Lanigan said on Monday. How Worth Waiting fares back in elite company at The Curragh will determine what route and indeed what country she races in later in the summer. “If she went and won the Pretty Polly, then we would look at going to Goodwood for the [G1] Nassau S. If she ran well and was placed [at The Curragh], then we would go for the [GI] Beverly D. Stakes at Arlington. I don’t think we could do both Goodwood and the Beverly D. as they are too close to each other,” Lanigan added.
