Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 8, 2019 Journalists Share Posted June 8, 2019 Trainer Jamie Osborne has reported all his horses and personnel to be safe following the outbreak of a fire in his yard early Saturday morning. “It’s been a difficult night,” Osborne said. “The fire was in a staff house, which is surrounded by 10 stables. Thankfully nobody was hurt–we managed to get all those horses out safely, and the fire didn’t get to the main stables. “This all happened at 4 a.m., and I have no idea what caused it at this stage.” Osborne was due to have five runners on Saturday, some of which were in the affected stables, but he said they didn’t appear to be adversely affected in any way. He said a significant amount of equipment was lost in a tack room. “Obviously they’ve had a bit of a trauma, and there was some smoke there, but they seem fine and I’m not overly worried that it will affect their performance,” Osborne said. “We have lost a tack room, unfortunately. I managed to get in there and save the colours for the horses that are running [on Saturday], but I’ve no idea what we’re going to do next week–we’ve lost a lot of kit.” The post All Ok After Osborne Yard Fire appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
