Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 8, 2019 Journalists Share Posted June 8, 2019 ‘TDN Rising Star’ RUSHING FALL (f, 3, More Than Ready–Autumnal, by Forestry) went straight to the front and never looked back, scoring her fourth top-level success in the GI Longines Just a Game S. Saturday at Belmont. Taking up her preferred position at the head of affairs, the 3-5 chalk strolled along through opening splits of :23.91 and :47.21 with fellow ‘Rising Star’ Daddy is a Legend (Scat Daddy) close behind. That rival ranged up menacingly on the backstretch run, drawing even with the chalk at the top of the lane, but Rushing Fall easily shook free of her rival, cruising home to a 2 1/4-length victory in 1:31.67. Beau Recall (Ire) (Sir Prancelaot {Ire}) was second and Daddy is a Legend was third. Winner of the 2017 GIII Jessamine S. and GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, Rushing Fall kicked off her sophomore campaign with a victory in the GII Appalachian S. last spring before suffering her first defeat when a neck short in the GIII Edgewood S. Returning to winning ways in the GII Lake Placid S. last summer, she captured Keeneland’s GI QEII Challenge Cup in October before calling it a season and opened 2019 with a win in that venue’s GI Jenny Wiley S. Apr. 13. Lifetime Record: 9-7-1-0. O-e Five Racing Thoroughbreds; B-Fred Hertrich & John Fielding (KY); T-Chad Brown.
