Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 8, 2019 Journalists Share Posted June 8, 2019 MAJID (c, 3, Shackleford–Jessamine, by Mineshaft) took his win streak to four with a wire-to-wire win in the Easy Goer S. to kick off the stakes action at Belmont Saturday. Seizing the early advantage, the bay ticked off opening splits of :23.70 and :47.55 with Still Dreaming (Flatter) and Alwaysmining (Stay Thirsty) in tow. Showing the way into the lane, the Zayat colorbearer held steady to score by a length. Still Dreaming held second over Grumps Little Tots (Sky Mesa), but was taken down for interference and placed fourth. Grumps Little Tots was moved into second and Alwaysmining promoted to third. Off the board when unveiled by Todd Pletcher at Gulfstream in May 2018, Majid was transferred to Brad Cox and failed to fire in his lone attempt for him at Ellis last September. Transferred yet again to Rudy Rodriguez, the $295,000 FTFMAR buy was dropped in for $30,000 at Aqueduct Jan. 27 and earned his diploma by a length. Winning a Laurel optional claimer next out Mar. 24, he scored in a one-mile test at this oval May 10. Lifetime Record: 6-4-0-0. O-Zayat Stables; B-Forever Spring Farm Syndicate (KY); T-Rudy Rodriguez.
