Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 8, 2019 Journalists Share Posted June 8, 2019 MITOLE (c, 4, Eskendereya-Indian Miss, by Indian Charlie) continued his hot streak with a gutsy score in a loaded renewal of the GI Met Mile Saturday. The 7-2 shot pressed from second as G2 Godolphin Mile winner Coal Front (Stay Thirsty) clicked off early splits of :22.17 and :44.38. Heading the pacesetter entering the far turn, the bay held off all challengers in the lane for a half-length success over late-running favorite McKinzie (Street Sense). Foreign invader Thunder Snow (Ire) (Helmet {Aus}) completed the trifecta. The final time was 1:32.75. Romping in both the Bachelor S. and Chick Lang S. last spring, Mitole was subsequently shelved and resurfaced at Oaklawn Mar. 2 with a decisive optional claimer score. Capturing the GIII Count Fleet Sprint H. there Apr. 13, he took the GI Churchill Downs S. last time May 4. Lifetime Record: 11-8-2-1. O-William & Corinne Heiligbrodt; B-Edward Cox, Jr. (KY); T-Steve Asmussen.
