Proving the latter defeat of Cloth of Stars (Ire) (Sea the Stars {Ire}) and Talismanic (GB) (Medaglia d’Oro) was no fluke when sixth in the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in October, the bay may have been feeling the effects of his Chantilly efforts when signing off with a third in Munich’s G1 Grosser Preis von Bayern a month later. Gestut Rottgen’s G1 Deutsches Derby hero Windstoss (Ger) (Shirocco {Ger}) could have a big year ahead of him as he reappears for the first time since stamping his authority on the G1 Preis von Europa over this course and distance in September.
