Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 19, 2019 Journalists Share Posted July 19, 2019 Wow Cat (Chi) (Lookin At Lucky), a rallying second from far back in last term’s GI Breeders’ Cup Distaff beneath the Twin Spires, kicks off her 5-year-old season in Sunday’s GIII Shuvee S. at Saratoga. A close second in this race last year, the 2018 Chilean Horse of the Year registered a career high in this country capturing the GI Beldame S. at Belmont Park in the fall. “That day she ran really, really well,” jockey Jose Ortiz of Wow Cat’s Distaff runner-up effort to champion Monomoy Girl (Tapizar). “I wish I could have been a little closer. She was also a little wide going into the first turn, so I decided to take her back. I go out on the same set as her in the morning and she looks very good.” She’s a Julie (Elusive Quality) posted a hard-fought win in the GI La Troienne S. May 3, then finished a close third behind ‘TDN Rising Star’ Elate (Medaglia d’Oro) going this distance in the GII Fleur de Lis June 15. She’s a Julie was a well-beaten second in last summer’s GI Alabama S. at the Spa. Electric Forest (Curlin), a half-sister to young sire Maclean’s Music (Distorted Humor) and graded winner Kentuckian (Tiznow), returns after posting a first stakes success in Keeneland’s GIII Hilliard Lyons-Baird Doubledogdare S. Apr. 19. The post Wow Cat Returns in Shuvee appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
