Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 27, 2019 Journalists Share Posted July 27, 2019 The more fancied member of the 3-5 favored entry, Shoplifted (2, c, Into Mischief–Shopit, by Yes It’s True) came from off the pace at Saratoga Saturday afternoon to win going away, earning TDN Rising Star status in the process. Shoplifted settled in the second flight, several lengths behind the leading duo of 7-2 chance Kowalski (Will Take Charge) and Always Misbehaving (Into Mischief) as they raced through an initial quarter in :22.18. Starting to take closer order as the pair closed out a half in :45.18, Shoplifted rounded into the home turn a few paths out, bore down on the leaders in the stretch, swept past Kowalski midstretch and drew off to win with ease. Kowalski was a clear second while Complexifier rounded out the trifecta. Final time for the 5 ½ furlong test was 1:03.99. A $525,000 KESEP yearling, Shoplifted brought $800,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Two-year-old in Training sale at Gulfstream Park in March. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $54,000.
