Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 27, 2019 Journalists Share Posted July 27, 2019 WRECKING CREW (c, 2, Sky Kingdom–Truelladeville, by Yes It’s True) became the first winner for his freshman sire (by Empire Maker) with a determined score at Del Mar Saturday. An $18,000 KEENOV weanling and $115,000 FTKJUL yearling, the dark bay summoned $875,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale after breezing in a snappy :9 4/5, making him the most expensive progeny of Sky Kingdom by far with the next highest being $115,000. Breaking slowly, the 2-5 chalk was last for only a few strides as he quickly rushed up into third, keeping a close eye on the top two through a swift first quarter in :22.40. Ranging up menacingly entering the far turn, Wrecking Crew took control in early stretch and coast clear to a two-length success in 1:12.22. Fredericktown (Constitution) was the runner-up. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0. O-Rockingham Ranch and David Bernsen; B-Westrock Stables (KY); T-Peter Miller.
