The UK’s Racecourse Media Group and Goodwood Racecourse have generated increased international  interest in the Qatar “Glorious” Goodwood Festival from July 30-Aug. 3, and, as a result, NBC will broadcast part of the event for the first time. A live two-hour time slot on Wednesday, July 31, will be available to NBC viewers, while the network will also be on course to film the story of Richard Raven’s Maven (American Pharoah), who is entered in that day’s G3 Markel Insurance Molecomb S. by trainer Wesley Ward. All five days of the festival are available in Canada via the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. TVG and HPI TV will also broadcast the content to the US and Canada, respectively.

In Australia, Network 10 will show live coverage on Saturday, while Sky Thoroughbred Central Channel will cover the entirety of the festival, as will Trackside in New Zealand. Thursday’s races will appear on Japan’s The Green Channel, as the mare Deirdre (Jpn) (Harbinger {GB}) contests the G1 Qatar Nassau S. Other networks covering the event include ITV (UK), Racing TV (UK/Ireland), Virgin Media (Ireland), TV Poland, Match (Russia), Silknet (Georgia), Equidia (France), Teleippica (Italy), Al Kass (Qatar), Sportsmax (Caribbean) and Tellytrack (South Africa).

“The Qatar Goodwood Festival is five days of top-class international racing in a relaxed and quintessentially English setting on the Sussex Downs,” said Goodwood Racecourse Clerk of the Course Ed Arkell. “We’re delighted that so many international broadcasters have recognised that and are showcasing Goodwood across the world.”
