Breeze Easy’s Karak (f, 2, Karakontie {Jpn}–Down the Well {Ire}, by Mujadil) powered clear to a three-length victory in the Tyro S. Saturday at Monmouth Park, becoming the first stakes winner for her freshman sire. The 3-5 favorite attended the pace through an opening quarter in :20.03 over the firm turf course. She overtook the lead after a half in :44.24 and drew clear despite drifting out down the lane to complete the five furlongs in :57.08. Slap Happy (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) was second and Now Is (Sidney’s Candy) was third.

Tabbed a ‘TDN Rising Star’ after a front-running three-length debut win at Belmont Park May 25, the bay filly traveled to Royal Ascot and finished 15th in the June 19  Windsor Castle S. last time out. A $22,000 Keeneland November weanling, Karak RNA’d for $30,000 as a Keeneland September yearling and was a $365,000 OBS March acqusition. Lifetime Record: 3-2-0-0, $95,000.
