 A half-sister to the brilliant runner and useful sire The Factor (War Front) will take her place in the starting gate in Thursday’s opener at Laurel. MORAVIAN PRAYER (Bayern), picked up for the bargain price tag of $30,000 at the Fasig-Tipton October Sale, has been training steadily over this oval under the watchful eye of top Maryland horseman Hamilton Smith. Her dam Greyciousness (Miswaki) is a half-sister to the precocious juvenile Chief Seattle (Seattle Slew), runner-up in the 1999 GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. The Factor, a dual Grade I winning sprinter, blazed six furlongs in 1:06.98 en route to a Santa Anita track record as a juvenile.

Fashion Rules (Constitution) is by the current leading freshman sire in the country (by Tapit) and is out of a mare who’s produced two black type runners in GI American Oaks heroine Decked Out (Street Boss) and multiple stakes winner Morrow Cove (Yes It’s True). The Shug McGaughey-trained filly was a $185,000 Keeneland November weanling and RNA’d for $145,000 at this year’s OBS April sale after a :10 2/5 eighth of a mile breeze. TJCIS PPs

Todd Pletcher sends out a pair of pricey juvenile colts in Thursday’s fourth event at the Spa. MYSTIC LANCELOT (Into Mischief) was acquired by Phoenix Thoroughbred III for $450,000 following the colt’s :10 1/5 furlong drill at this spring’s Fasig-Tipton Timonium Sale. The bay breezed a :50 4/5 (18/52) half-mile on the turf course in company Aug. 9 with July 14 maiden special weight winner Sweet Melania (American Pharoah) (Click for XBTV Video). Phoenix Thoroughbreds Into Mischief first-time starter Call On Mischief captured a maiden special weight at Monmouth last weekend for trainer Michael Stidham.

Dongel Racing signed the ticket for Croi Mor (HonorCode) for $150,000 as a yearling at the Keeneland September Sale. His dam Eden’s Storm (Stormy Atlantic) is a half-sister to English champion and $4,116,358 earner David Junior (Pleasant Tap) and hails from the family of turf giants Paradise Creek (Irish River {Fr}) and Theatrical (Ire) (Nureyev).
