Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 24, 2019 Journalists Share Posted August 24, 2019 William and Corinne Heiligbrodt’s Mitole (c, 4, Eskendereya–Indian Miss, by Indian Charlie) charged home an authoritative winner of the GI Forego H. at Saratoga Saturday. The bay colt, favored at 3-2, contested the pace with Promises Fulfilled (Shackleford) through a moderate quarter in :23.05. He surged to the lead after a half in :45.58 and strode home unchallenged, winning his third Grade I by 3 1/2 lengths in stakes record time of 1:20.80. Firenze Fire (Poseidon’s Warrior) closed for second and longshot Killybegs Captain (Mizzen Mast) was third. During a string of seven straight victories, Mitole won the GIII Count Fleet Sprint H., GI Churchill Downs Sprint and GI Metropolitan H.
