W S Farish’s Code of Honor (c, 3, Noble Mission {GB}–Reunited, by Dixie Union) stormed to the lead in deep stretch to score an authoritative victory in the GI Runhappy Travers S. Saturday at Saratoga. The chestnut colt, a 4-1 shot, settled well off the pace as favored Tacitus (Tapit) and West Coast invader Mucho Gusto (Mucho Macho Man) exchanged blows on the front end through fractions of :23.11, :47.26 and 1:11.21. The two pacesetters began to tire down the lane and exchanged bumps as Code of Honor was moving best of all, powering to the lead en route to a 2 1/2-length victory. Tacitus was second and Mucho Gusto third. The time for the 1 1/4 miles was 2:01.05.

Code of Honor won the Mar. 2 GII Fountain of Youth S. and was third in the Mar. 30 GI Florida Derby. He was promoted to second after finishing third in the GI Kentucky Derby and was most recently a 3 1/4-length winner of the July 6 GIII Dwyer S.

Lifetime Record: 8-4-2-1, $1,965,820. O/B-W S Farish. T-Claude McGaughey III.
