Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 30, 2019 Journalists Share Posted August 30, 2019 Prominent horseman David Anderson has joined the Board of Directors of Ontario Racing in the role of representative for Thoroughbred breeders. “I feel that we need a voice for all breeders, big and small,” said Anderson. “I am honoured that they (OR Board) considered me for the position, and I look forward to bringing my passion and commitment to horse racing to the table.” The son of the late Canadian Hall of Fame inductee Robert (Bob) Anderson, David Anderson ran the highly successful Standardbred division of Anderson Farms Ontario Inc. until his father’s passing in 2010, at which time a decision was made to focus on Thoroughbreds. Anderson Farms sells upwards of 20 yearlings each year at auctions at home and in the U.S. As a breeder, Anderson was responsible for 2018 Canadian Horse of the Year Wonder Gadot (Medaglia d’Oro), who defeated the boys in the Queen’s Plate and Prince of Wales S. and was a close second in the GI Kentucky Oaks. “Ontario Racing Management (ORM) is thrilled to have David join the OR Board, someone who has a great passion for and a thorough understanding of Thoroughbred breeding, along with a dedication to help build a long-term framework for success for Ontario’s horse racing industry,” said Katherine Curry, Executive Director, ORM.
