Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 6, 2019 Journalists Share Posted September 6, 2019 Martyn Meade has been forced to withdraw the likely favourite Advertise (GB) (Showcasing {GB}) from Saturday’s G1 Betfair Sprint Cup at Haydock due to a dirty scope. The Manton-based trainer issued the news on the June 21 G1 Commonwealth Cup and Aug. 4 G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest winner, whose absence is a blow to the race with TDN Rising Star and G1 July Cup winner Ten Sovereigns (Ire) (No Nay Never) also set to miss due to the soft ground. “Advertise returned a bad scope this morning and we had no alternative but to withdraw him,” Meade explained. “It’s not serious and he should be fine in a week, but we can’t take any chances. It’s disappointing he can’t run at Haydock, but there’s nothing we can do about it–that’s horses for you.” The post Advertise Ruled Out of Haydock Feature appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
