Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 21, 2019 Journalists Share Posted September 21, 2019 Math Wizard (c, 3, Algorithms–Minister’s Baby, by Deputy Minister), claimed for $25,000 out of a runaway win at Gulfstream Park back in January, pulled off a massive 30-1 upset in Saturday’s GI Pennsylvania Derby at Parx. He raced toward the back while saving ground through fractions of :24 2/5 and :49 3/5. The chestnut hit the gas on the far turn, came rolling five wide into the stretch and rallied over the top down the lane to nail the streaking Mr. Money (Goldencents) by a neck. War of Will (War Front) was third. A close second in the GIII Ohio Derby and third in the GIII Indiana Derby, Math Wizard entered off a well-beaten sixth in the GIII West Virginia Derby Aug. 3.
