Happy Sunrise
A sign of the times and no surprise this would happen. Shows the Messara Report is not all wrong and, maybe, there are too many of this local organisations. With the possible sale of the Franklin Trotting Club site and the likes of this, it shows that there is a lot of work to be done to streamline the harness industry and guarantee the future of it. Notice re: Motukarara Workouts Inc. It is with regret the Motukarara Trotting Association Inc. Committee advise they have reached the decision to not run any more Workouts at Motukarara Race Course. The major factor in this decision was the lack of younger people willing to work on the track / help with starting, on Saturdays. Unfortunately the current track staff are no longer capable of the physical effort required to run a safe meeting - particularly in the climate of the current Health and Safety regulations. The Committee are issuing a notification of its intention to wind up Motukarara Trotting Assoc. Inc. An open public meeting will be advertised, in due course, in accordance with the Rules of the Incorporated Society. The Committee would like to thank all those who have been supporters of the Workouts, over the many years it has serviced the needs of Owners, Trainers and Drivers. MTA Inc wish you All the Best, in your future endeavours. Currently, HRNZ along with Ashburton and Rangiora trial and workout clubs are establishing a working group to better streamline trials and workouts within Canterbury and create better outcomes for the local industry. 1
