Where Sunday’s G2 Beresford S. is concerned, it is difficult to look anywhere other than what Aidan O’Brien opts to send to the mile staging post with the master of Rosegreen responsible for a record 18 winners and all of the last eight. If jockey bookings are to be believed, it is the Galway maiden scorer Innisfree (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) who leads the stable’s trio with Donnacha O’Brien choosing the son of the smart Palace (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}). He beat the re-opposing Shekhem (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) in that July 29 seven-furlong encounter and His Highness The Aga Khan’s homebred has since run second to Mogul (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) here and won a Listowel maiden Sept. 11. Ballydoyle also have the G2 Champions Juvenile S. fifth and sixth Cormorant (Ire) (Kingman {GB}) and Royal County Down (Ire) (Gleneagles {Ire}), while Ger Lyons pitches Simon Kwok’s Camorra (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) into battle. He is a son of the GI Beverly D. S. heroine Mauralakana (Fr) (Muthathir {GB}) and is totally unexposed coming off a debut win at Killarney Aug. 21.

The G3 Weld Park S. sees His Highness The Aga Khan’s Shehreen (Ire) (Iffraaj {GB}) attempt to star for Dermot Weld whose parents this race honours. A half-sister to the stable’s dual G2 Blandford S. winner Shamreen (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}), she took a Galway maiden over this seven-furlong trip Sept. 17 and is open to abundant improvement. The same connections also have Tasalka (Ire) (Lope de Vega {Ire}), who is still a maiden after three starts but was narrowly denied by the subsequent listed scorer Blissful (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in a Tipperary maiden over an extended seven last time Aug. 29. Ballydoyle have a sole representative in Love Locket (Ire) (No Nay Never), who was fourth to Deirdra (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}) in a six-furlong maiden at Naas on her introduction Sept. 18.
