ParisLongchamp warms up for its marquee Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe card with an quality slate on Saturday, after which the action moves down the street to Saint-Cloud Racecourse where Arqana hosts it boutique Arc Sale. An initial catalogue of 42 has since been bolstered by nine wildcards with notable recent performances, including Haras de Saint Pair’s Trais Fluors (GB) (Dansili {GB}), a Group 3 winner who has won or placed in six of his seven starts this year at five, including a 1 1/2-length third in the G1 Prix d’Ispahan. The Andre Fabre trainee is offered as lot 10. Pretty Boy (Ire) (Siyouni {Fr}) (lot 20) boasts progressive sprinting form, having been Group 3-placed at two and most recently winning a ParisLongchamp handicap on Sept. 12. Those seeking a middle distance or staying prospect may be enticed by 3-year-old Mister Nino (Fr) (Magician {Ire}) (lot 15), twice a winner over 2400 metres this year and second in Saint-Cloud’s Listed Prix Turenne on Sept. 13.

A trio of promising juveniles with recent form are up for grabs: the unbeaten Listed Critierium de Lyon victor Chares (Ger) (Ivawood {Ire}) (lot 25); the winning and listed-placed Jessely (Fr) (Charm Spirit {Ire}) (lot 35); and Ikigai (GB) (Sayif {Ire}) (lot 40), a winner on debut at Yarmouth in July and listed-placed. German miler Kronprinz (Ger) (Lord of England {Ger}) (lot 50) was added to the sale after a victory in the G3 Grosser Preis der Landeshauptstadt Dusseldorf on Sept. 29, and 3-year-old filly Stone Tornado (GB) (Toronado {Ire}) (lot 30) took up the last wildcard slot after finishing second to fellow Arc sale entrant Style Presa (Fr) (Style Vendome {Fr}) (f2lot 6) in the G3 Premio Elena e Sergio Cumani on Sept. 22.

Other entries of note include George Strawbridge’s consistent stakes-winning miler Stunning Spirit (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) (lot 8) and Wertheimer 3-year-old Flop Shot (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}) (lot 21), winner of the G3 Prix de Guiche on May 6 and third in both the G2 Prix Eugene Adam and G2 Prix Guillaume d’Ornano subsequently. Les Hogues (Ire) (Bated Breath {GB}) (lot 29), a listed winner and second to Earthlight (Ire) (Shamardal) earlier this year, is also an attractive prospect from the Jean-Claude Rouget barn.
