Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 10, 2019 Journalists Share Posted October 10, 2019 Scalo (GB) (Lando {Ger}-Sky Dancing {Ire}, by Exit to Nowhere), who won the G1 Preis von Europa, will stand at Yorton Farm Stud in 2020, the stud announced on Thursday. Already an established sire, the Gestut Ittlingen-bred’s Laccario (Ger) won the G1 Deutsches Derby this season. The 12-year-old, a full-brother to German highweight, GSW & G1SP Sound Check (Ger) (Lando {Ger}), as well as a half to French GSW Sexy Lady (Ger) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) and German MGSP Scolari (GB) (Monsun {Ger}), was a dual German highweight and saluted in the G2 Prix Guillaume d’Ornano. Hailing from the same female line as dual US Horse of the Year Wise Dan (Wiseman’s Ferry), he also ran second in the G1 Gran Premio di Milano. A fee will be announced later. “We have secured Scalo with the help of bloodstock agent Richard Venn, and are delighted that the horse is joining our roster,” said Yorton Farm Stud’s David Futter. “We have been keeping an eye on him for some time, and, in common with other proven horses we have stood, it was his stock which caught our eye first. They are great models with wonderful temperaments and are proving they perform at the top level. From limited opportunities, Scalo has had seven runners over jumps in France and three individual winners. His percentage of winners to runners is 58%.” The post Scalo to Yorton Farm Stud appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
