Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 19, 2019 Journalists Share Posted October 19, 2019 ParisLongchamp offers the feature race on Sunday, with the G2 Prix du Conseil de Paris the stage of a three-way tussle between some of the country’s up-and-coming 3-year-old fillies. They are His Highness The Aga Khan’s Edisa (Kitten’s Joy), Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani’s Pelligrina (Ire) (Soldier Hollow {GB}) and the Wertheimers’ Soudania (GB) (Sea the Stars {Ire}). Edisa escapes a penalty, as the Sept. 7 Jockey Club Oaks that she conquered last time is not yet a graded-stakes event. That could prove crucial, as her peers are forced to carry two pounds more in the case of the impressive Sept. 21 G3 Prix du Prince d’Orange winner Soudania and three pounds more than Pelligrina with Pierre-Charles Boudot forced to race one pound overweight. Pelligrina, who went two-for-two in the G3 Prix de Royaumont at Chantilly when last seen June 2, represents Andre Fabre who boasts the record of eight winners in this. He also saddles two unexposed types for Godolphin in the Listed Prix du Ranelagh in the Sept. 12 course-and-distance scorer Mount Pelion (Ire) (Raven’s Pass) and the Mar. 17 G3 Prix Exbury runner-up Magny Cours (Medaglia d’Oro). Elsewhere, Baden-Baden stages the G3 Preis der Winterkonigin for the juvenile fillies and it looks a wide-open affair. Five unbeaten runners are in the line-up, with Litex Commerce’s impressive Sept. 29 Dusseldorf maiden scorer Tabera (GB) (Gleneagles {Ire}) and Gestut Gorlsdorf’s Sept. 15 Hanover winner Tickle Me Green (Ger) (Sea the Moon {Ger}) among the favourites.
