Sure to appreciate further in time, The Queen’s homebred encounters Hussain Alabbas Lootah’s Lady G (Ire) (Golden Horn {GB}), a William Haggas-trained half-sister to the talented Raise You (Ire) (Lope de Vega {Ire}). 6.00 Newcastle, Novice, £5,300, 2yo, f, 7f 14y (AWT)MARIA ROSA (War Front) was the top-priced filly of last year’s Keeneland September Sale when selling to Godolphin for $1.75-million and she makes her debut for the John Gosden stable at the track at which he likes to run some of his more talented juveniles. The half-sister to the 2016 Kentucky Derby hero Nyquist (Uncle Mo) encounters another unraced filly of note in Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Fooraat (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}), a Roger Varian-trained full-sister to the high-class Benbatl (GB) out of the G1 Prix de l’Opera and GI Flower Bowl heroine Nahrain (GB) (Selkirk).
