Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 27, 2019 Journalists Share Posted October 27, 2019 Marilyn Campbell, co-owner of Stonehedge Farm, has been named to the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association board of directors, while Valerie Dailey, Brent Fernung, and Dr. Phil Matthews remain on the board for their second terms. After a one-year absence as a member on the board due to term limits, Joe O’Farrell, III returns to the board. Each will serve three-year terms that will run through 2022. Greg Wheeler was elected as the president of the association at the board meeting that followed the FTBOA annual meeting Friday. “This is a diverse board that represents the members of our association across all spectrums of our industry,” Wheeler said. “We have representation from the large, historically significant ‘anchor’ farms. We have representation of those who breed for the sales and those who breed to race. We have representation from breeders who are also consignors. We have representation of the small farm and ‘backyard’ breeders, as well as the larger commercial operations. This board literally illustrates the concerns/ideas from a new generation all the way through the long established breeders and owners. We have enjoyed several significant accomplishments and we have overcome many hurdles in the recent past. We are now going to lean heavily on the talents, componentsand connections of this board, management and advisors to move the Florida Thoroughbred industry forward legislatively, at the track and on the farm.” The post Campbell Joins FTBOA Board; Wheeler Named President appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
