Darley Reveals Fees for Too Darn Hot, Blue Point, Masar

The 2020 European roster, 35 strong across the United Kingdom, Ireland and France, was announced by Darley on Tuesday, with champion and MG1SW Too Darn Hot (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) leading the new additions at £50,000. He is joined by G1 Investec Derby hero Masar (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}) at £15,000, while the third new recruit is Kildangan Stud’s MG1SW Blue Point (Ire) (Shamardal) at €45,000.

Dalham stalwart Dubawi (Ire) remains at £250,000, while G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe hero Golden Horn (GB)‘s fee is £40,000. Both Group 1 sires Iffraaj (GB) and New Approach (Ire) will command £30,000 in 2020.

In Ireland, pride of place goes to Shamardal, who has enjoyed an outstanding run with his juvenile colts at the Group 1 level this season, and he once again is set to cover at a private fee.  Roster veterans Exceed And Excel (Aus) and Teofilo (Ire) are each offered at €40,000, while Night of Thunder (Ire), whose first 2-year-olds have been able representatives on the racecourse, has been relocated to Kildangan and sees his fee rise to €25,000.

“We are delighted to be able to offer an extensive range of quite exceptional stallions in Britain, Ireland and France in 2020,” said Darley’s Director of Stallions Sam Bullard. “It’s remarkable to reflect on how the stallion yards have grown over the decades here at Darley–when Dubai Millennium won at Nad Al Sheba in March 2000, the roster was just a dozen strong–and it’s particularly satisfying for the whole team to be standing outstanding sons of stallions who have also stood their careers here. We couldn’t do it without the breeders who invest so much time and skill in producing the horses who are at the heart of our great sport. We’ll do all we can to help them fulfil their ambitions and hope to be part of their plans again in 2020.”
