Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted October 31, 2019 Journalists Share Posted October 31, 2019 Longtime racing official Brook Hawkins has been named a NYRA steward and will begin his duties Nov. 1 with the start of the Aqueduct meet. Hawkins succeeds Braulio Baeza, Jr., who has assumed the role of New York State Gaming Commission steward. Hawkins has nearly 30 years of varied experience in the business as a steward, racing secretary, placing and paddock judge, stakes coordinator, clerk of scales and jockey agent.
