Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 1, 2019 Journalists Share Posted November 1, 2019 STRUCTOR (c, 2, Palace Malice–Miss Always Ready, by More Than Ready) provided trainer Chad Brown with his first GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf trophy–to go with five wins in the equivalent for fillies–while remaining unbeaten Friday. The $160,000 KEESEP yearling turned $850,000 OBSMAR juvenile was a debut winner at Saratoga Aug. 31, and took Belmont’s GIII Pilgrim S. by a hard-fought head Sept. 28. Off as the 5-1 third choice here, he worked out a midpack trip, split horses in the lane and kicked away by daylight, stopping the clock in 1:35.11. Huge longshots Billy Batts (City Zip) and Gear Jockey (Twirling Candy) were second and third, respectively, while Decorated Invader (Declaration of War) made a big move for fourth from far back. A steward’s inquiry was conducted into the result as pacesetting Graceful Kitten (Kitten’s Joy) bounced off the rail in the stretch, but no change was made. Structor becomes the first Grade I winner for his first-crop sire (by Curlin). Sales history: $160,000 yrl ’18 KEESEP; $850,000 2yo ’19 OBSMAR. Lifetime Record: 3-3-0-0. O-Jeff Drown & Don Rachel.
