Muhaarar Leads Shadwell Roster

Muhaarar (GB), whose 13 first-crop winners thus far include group performer Unforgetable (GB), leads Shadwell’s UK roster for 2020 at a fee of £20,000. That is down slightly from the £30,000 the Group 1-winning son of Oasis Dream (GB) commanded in his first four seasons.

“Muhaarar has made a pleasing start with his first 2-year-olds and we go into the winter months expecting them to develop into even better 3-year-olds as was the case with him,” said Shadwell Stud Director Richard Lancaster. “The appetite for his stock has remained high, a point emphasised by his yearling prices and he covered a full book of high-class mares for the fourth consecutive season in 2019.”

Shadwell introduces another winner of Royal Ascot’s G1 Commonwealth Cup, Eqtidaar (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}), at a fee of £6,500. Eqtidaar is out of the winning Acclamation (GB) mare Madany (Ire), and is there fore a half-brother to the G2 Hungerford S. winner and G1 2000 Guineas and G1 Dewhurst S. second Massaat (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) and from the family of G1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches victress Precieuse (Ire) (Tamayuz {GB}).

“We’re delighted to be standing Eqtidaar at Nunnery Stud in 2020 and we feel he possesses everything that commercial breeders are looking for: he’s a Group 1-winning sprinter who won at two by one of the hottest sires around in Invincible Spirit,” said Lancaster. “He also has the pedigree and looks to match his racecourse achievements and at £6,500 represents outstanding value.”

The Shadwell UK roster is completed by Mukhadram (GB) and Tasleet (GB) at £6,000. All fees are Jan. 1, special live foal terms.
