Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 3, 2019 Journalists Share Posted November 3, 2019 Independence Hall (2, c, Constitution–Kalahari Cat, by Cape Town) proved much-the-best as he powered home an open-length winner in Sunday’s GIII Nashua S. at Aqueduct. Close up to Spycraft (Discreet Cat), who carved out opening fractions in :22.68 and :45.20, the $100,000 KEESEP yearling overtook the pacesetter as that rival started to weaken entering the final turn and kicked clear down the lane. Increasing his advantage with every stride, the 9-1 chance was clear of the slow-closing TDN Rising Star Meru (Sky Mesa), who was pinched back at the start and wasn’t able to find clear sailing until the late stages. Final time for the mile event was 1:34.66. This is the fourth graded-stakes winner for the winner’s freshman sire by Tapit. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $135,000.
