Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 6, 2019 Journalists Share Posted November 6, 2019 Sovereign Award winner Heart to Heart (English Channel–Ask the Question, by Silver Deputy), a graded winner each year from three to seven and victorious in the 2018 GI Maker’s Mark Mile S., will enter stud for the 2020 breeding season at Pope McLean’s Crestwood Farm. He will command a fee of $5,000 live foal and will participate in the farm’s ‘Share the Upside’ program. Trained initially by Mike Stidham and for the bulk of his career by Brian Lynch for owner Terry Hamilton, Heart to Heart–so named for his distinctive blaze–posted a total of 18 triple-figure Beyer Speed Figures, winning 11 graded stakes at six different racetracks. A testament to his longevity, Heart to Heart celebrated his best year at the races at age seven in 2017, posting a richly deserved first Grade I success in the Gulfstream Park Turf S. before employing his customary front-running tactics to add the Maker’s Mark at Keeneland. He came within a neck of making it three top-level score when missing by a neck in the Shoemaker Mile S. at Santa Anita. Heart to Heart retires with a record of 41-15-6-4 and earnings of $2,035,090. “Heart to Heart is the racehorse we should all aspire to breed and race,” said Crestwood Farm’s Robert Keck. “He was precocious, fast, versatile, and sound. He had miler-speed, an amazing pedigree, and is a flawless physical. He has everything to be a top sire of fast and sound runners.” The post Heart to Heart to Crestwood appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
