Great Efforts

Firstly well done to Angela Turnwald and Paul Freeman. 6 dogs travelled for 1 miss, a 2.4L 4th in the cup from a veteran, 2 placings, and 2 distance winners. Not a bad effort from their shabby looking dogs Crosscodes.

Jared Udy and Denise Cottam an outstanding effort! 3 dogs travelled for a miss, a place, and the Galaxy trophy. Very much deserved from this humble duo!

Steve Clark, 1 travelled and one
Christchurch Casino New Zealand Greyhound Cup goes north. Steve adds his name to the cup for a second time.

Outstanding effort from 3 of the 4 travelling trainers. The trip is by no means an easy one, the risks numerous. Well done also to all the other winners on the night.

A hearty congratulations to the Steve Clark and Udy/Cottam kennels, I couldn’t be more pleased to see big races go to trainers who actually care about their dogs, before and after racing.

As for Freeman well he got a win yes, what happens to the majority of his dogs off track who knows? Hardly a glowing example of honesty and integrity in the greyhound code so no, I don’t celebrate any success he has.

Jarod and Denise are 2 of the nicest people I know when it comes to the welfare of their dogs, am stoked to see them do so well down in ChCh, just shows maybe the Southerners aren’t as dominant as they make out they are.

You are very free with your disparaging comments Crosscodes. The problem I have with that is there is usually nothing to back it up. Prior to the welfare rule changes your remark "what happens to the majority of his dogs off track?" could have applied to a good percentage of dogs raced across the country. The numbers rehomed vs the numbers whelped per year was severely out of kilter. In fact until the Hansen report was released "missing" seemed to be the norm. So I wouldn't be to quick with your quips. The Messara report went further and in depth. As a result of both reports sweeping changes were introduced, well done to the governing body on this. Now anyone who breaches the new reforms should be gone. If you have the time you can actually track trainers dogs with reasonable accuracy, the anti's sure do. Having done so myself I believe there is no evidence to back your insinuation above.

All trainers now have a very clear directive, anyone in breach of the new code should be dealt with severly. It is pointless proferring innuendo especially when you haven't even bothered to verify the facts. Flippant remarks about shabby dogs, and dogs being taken off trainers are uncalled for and abusive. If you have actual evidence of wrong doing, please share it with the appropriate authorites.

I said mil of Sam. Figure it out

"I was told this by the women in my post at wanganui". In reply to that I will ask if what you say is true, please explain why the person making this claim did not go to the authorities and lay an official complaint? Why no investigation and charges? Big statement based on hearsay. All that happens when you do this is you harm the people who least deserve it. And, it is an offense under the rules to fail to report an action which is in breach of the rules of greyhound racing. This is appalling behaviour.
