MJC Launches ‘Win Today, See You In May’ Series

Leading up to next year’s Classic season, the “Win Today, See You in May” race series will offer automatic entry into stakes featured on GI Preakness S. weekend at Pimlico Race Course. The winner of all races in the series will have their nomination, starter and entry fees waived. The second jewel in the Triple Crown is scheduled for May 16.

“The Maryland Jockey Club is excited to build off the success we had this year with our qualifier races,” said Maryland Jockey Club Racing Secretary Chris Merz. “We are very excited to add new races and get new partners involved. We would like to thank the great teams from Oaklawn Park, Charles Town, Gulfstream Park and Golden Gate Fields for working with us on this and making the series possible.”

Winners of the following qualifying races earn a berth to:

GI Preakness (May 16)
Qualifiers
• Federico Tesio S. at Laurel
• Oaklawn Invitational at Oaklawn Park
• El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate Fields

GII Dixie S. (May 16)
Qualifier
• GIII San Francisco Mile at Golden Gates

GIII Maryland Sprint S. (May 16)
Qualifier
• GIII Count Fleet Sprint H.

Searching S. (May 16)
Qualifier
• GIII Orchid S. (Each of the top three Orchid winners will have their fees waived for the Searching S.).

GII Black-Eyed Susan S. (May 15)
Qualifiers
• Weber City Miss S. at Laurel
• GII Gulfstream Park Oaks at Gulfstream
• GIII Fantasy S. at Oaklawn. (Each of the top three Fantasy winners will have their fees waived for the Black-Eyed Susan).

GIII Pimlico Special (May 15)
Qualifiers
• GII Charles Town Classic
• GII Oaklawn H.
• GIII Hal’s Hope S. at Gulfstream

Hilltop S. (May 15)
Qualifier
• Sanibel Island S. at Gulfstream
