Former Tally-Ho Stud resident Zebedee (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}-Cozy Maria, by Cozzene), passed away earlier this fall at Cornerstone Stud in South Australia. The 11-year-old sustained an injury dismounting from a mare in September which aggravated previously undiagnosed ataxia leading to his death. An 70,000gns TATOCT yearling, he was raced by Mrs. J. Wood and trainer Richard Hannon, Sr. to wins in the G2 Flying Childers S. and G3 Molecomb S. Successful in six of his seven starts, he retired to Tally-Ho Stud in Ireland with earnings of $251,272.  Based at Tally-Ho through 2017, he had remained permanently at Cornerstone Stud Down Under since. His oldest Southern Hemisphere foals are 3-year-olds.

Bred by Hascombe & Valiant Studs, the grey son of the MSP Cozy Maria has sired nine black-type winners, four at the group level led by MGSW & MG1SP Ivawood (Ire) and MGSW & G1SP Magical Memory (Ire). He was buried at Cornerstone Stud.

“I am extremely grateful for the support that Zebedee received from breeders both here in South Australia and also across the country since his arrival in 2015 from Tally-Ho Stud in Ireland,” said Sam Hayes in a statement. “Zebedee was a beautiful stallion, with a wonderful character and placid demeanour. He was a farm favourite and his early departure has certainly been felt by those that worked alongside him on a daily basis.”
