Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 26, 2019 Journalists Share Posted November 26, 2019 The New York Racing Association has announced the 2019-20 Aqueduct winter meet racing and stakes schedule, which will run from Thursday, Dec. 12 and continue through Sunday, Mar. 29. The meet will feature 45 stakes, beginning with the $500,000 New York Stallion Stakes Series Great White Way S. for juvenile males Dec. 14. The $500,000 NYSSS Fifth Avenue S. for fillies will be held Dec. 15. Racing will generally take place on a Thursday through Sunday schedule during the months of January and February. A Wednesday card will be held on New Year’s Day, and include the $150,000 Jerome S. for sophomores. Monday cards will take place on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Jan. 20, as well as Presidents’ Day, Feb. 17. New York’s road to the GI Kentucky Derby continues with the GIII Withers S. Feb. 1, followed by the GIII Gotham S. Mar. 7 on a card that also includes the GIII Tom Fool H., Busher Invitational and Stymie S. Claiming Championship Day will feature 10 starter stakes Mar. 28.
