Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 29, 2019 Journalists Share Posted November 29, 2019 The lesser-preferred half of an uncoupled Chad Brown entry at odds of 7-1, NAY LADY NAY (IRE) (f, 3, No Nay Never–Lady Ederle, by English Channel) was the recipient of a turf-saving ride underneath Junior Alvarado and found extra gears in the final stages to take Friday’s GII Mrs. Revere S. at Churchill Downs. It was the first victory in the race for trainer Chad Brown, who also sent out the beaten favorite New and Improved (Cairo Prince). Settled in centerfield behind even early fractions, Nay Lady Nay was patiently handled on the turn and remained within striking distance once heads were turned for home. The Mackem Bullet (Ire) (Society Rock {Ire}), who carved out a good trip despite her outside draw, took a narrow lead in the stretch, but was confronted and passed by Dalika (Ger) (Pastorius {Ger}), who looked to bobble ever so slightly at the start. But the latter’s lead was also short-lived, as Alvarado sent Nay Lady Nay between The Mackem Bullet to her inside and Dalika on her outer before going on to cause the mild upset. The 10th graded winner for her sire, Nay Lady Nay is a full-sister to Arizona (Ire), who in the estimation ran the best race of anyone when fourth in the GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf earlier this month. Lifetime Record: 4-3-1-0. O-First Row Partners & Hidden Brook Farm; B-Stephen Sullivan; T-Chad Brown.
