Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted November 30, 2019 Journalists Share Posted November 30, 2019 Looking to make it a perfect three for three in her young career and to become the first black-type winner for her freshman sire (by Tapit), TONALIST’S SHAPE (f, 2, Tonalist–Hitechnoweenie, by Harlan’s Holiday) turned Saturday’s one-mile Hut Hut S. into a one-horse affair, kicking home nicely to score by the better part of eight lengths. Stretching out to a route of ground for the first time, the chestnut showed good early speed to chase longshot Filly Jean King (Brethren) from second through an opening half-mile that was posted in :47.72. Cruising along well within the grasp of jockey Sammy Camacho on the turn, Tonalist’s Shape rolled up to grab command at the quarter pole and left her rivals in the dust in the final furlong. Ceci Valentina (Prospective) gave futile chance to be second, while Addilyn (Palace Malice) gave her sire another black-type performer in third. Tempted S. runner-up Power Move (More Than Ready) never landed a serious blow in fourth. A debut winner from well off the pace over this surface Sept. 28, Tonalist’s Shape made it two straight with a popular allowance score at Gulfstream West Oct. 20. The stakes-winning Hitechnoweenie has a yearling filly by Outwork and a weanling colt by Connect. She was most recently covered by Tiznow. Lifetime Record: 3-3-0-0.
