Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted December 1, 2019 Journalists Share Posted December 1, 2019 Chestertown (c, 2, Tapit–Artemis Agrotera, by Roman Ruler), who topped the OBS March sale when bringing a final bid of $2 million from West Point Thoroughbreds, Rob Masiello and Siena Farm, strode clear down the lane through the raindrops to graduate by three lengths at Aqueduct Sunday. The even-money favorite facing fellow New York-breds tracked the pacesetters while racing four wide over the sealed track through fractions of :23.61 and :47.25. He loomed a threat at the top of the lane and kicked in at midstretch to win geared down, completing the one mile in 1:37.56. Forever Wicked (Wicked Strong) was second and Wild Banker (Central Banker) was third. Chestertown was third going six furlongs on debut at Belmont Oct. 24. He worked a furlong ahead of the OBS March sale in :10 1/5 and, in addition to the names on the ticket after that auction, races for Woodford Racing and breeders Chester and Mary Broman. He is the first foal out of Artemis Agrotera, who won the 2014 GI Ballerina S. and 2013 GI Frizette S. in the Bromans colors. The mare has an Uncle Mo yearling filly and an Arrogate weanling filly.
