Front-running BAST (f, 2, Uncle Mo–Laffina, by Arch) provided trainer Bob Baffert with his fourth consecutive win on the card and third straight running of the GI Starlet S. as she fended off heavily favored Donna Veloce (Uncle Mo) to cap an exacta for her sire Saturday. The GI Del Mar Debutante and GI Chandelier S. winner finished third in the GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies–one slot behind Donna Veloce–and was off as the 2-1 second choice. She covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.36. Baffert took the GII Los Alamitos Futurity earlier on the card with Thousand Words (Pioneerof the Nile).
