Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted December 8, 2019 Journalists Share Posted December 8, 2019 Already the course-and-distance winner of the G1 FWD Queen Elizabeth II Cup in April, Win Bright (Jpn) (Stay Gold {Jpn}) burst to the front with 200 meters to travel in Sunday’s G1 Longines Hong Kong Cup and staved off a late dive from world traveler Magic Wand (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) to give Japan three of the four races on international day. Settled fourth and covering Magic Wand for the opening 1000 meters, Win Bright sat three deep in the breeze entering the second turn. Poised to pounce at the head of the lane, the 5-year-old was roused to the front entering the final furlong, pinched a break and just held on as Magic Wand, who’d enjoyed the run of the race, could not quite pick him up late. Rise High (Fr) (Myboycharlie {Ire}) rallied for third. Lifetime Record: 21-9-2-0. O-Win Co Ltd; B-Cosmo View Farm; T-M Matsuoka.
