Postman
Love this time of year, seeing the new boys on the block turn up, be interesting to see how the new sires go and if the likes of Ray Green spending up large etc will stop the purdon Domination of young stock. I think not but good to see plenty of mixed stock represented, He's watching, Sportswriter, Johnny Rock etc as well as the proven ones!! seems to be some good numbers of 2yos at trials and workouts also. Just been going through the trials and paid attention to the sires. Something I don't really do but as you say there seems to be quite a range of sire. Art Major is popular along with Majestic Son and Sportswriter. Do you have any favourite sires?
Postman
Not really, I'm interested to see how Captain Trecherous will go. I've heard a few people say they have had trouble with his frozen this year but that's not uncommon when your dealing with Frozen. Bettors will still be the pin up although if you get a wee ratty thing like he can throw at $20k+ it's a expensive result, you'd have to think north of 43k to break even for one at the sales as a seller of stock. Always B Miki I have alot of time for and there are a couple nice bred ones in the sales but I think he served better mares in season 2 (I. M. O.). I've seen a few betting lines who look good also. I note Laz will be close to 200 in both NZ and AUS. And another interesting one is Fear the Dragon who beat downbytheseaside in a number of encounters.
