SPEECH (f, 2, Mr Speaker–Scribbling Sarah, by Freud) was third while sprinting five furlongs over the Del Mar turf in her Nov. 15 unveiling. The 6-5 favorite pressed the pace through an opening quarter in :22.44 and gained command after a half in :45.34 before bounding clear to win by nine lengths. Princess Mo (Uncle Mo) was second. Speech is the 11th winner for her freshman sire (by Pulpit). A $65,000 OBSWIN yearling, she RNA’d for $95,000 as an FTKJUL yearling and sold for $190,000 at this year’s OBS March sale following a :10 flat work. Scribbling Sarah, purchased for $7,500 at the 2015 Fasig-Tipton February sale, has a yearling colt by Upstart who sold for $48,000 at this year’s OBS October sale.
