Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted December 16, 2019 Journalists Share Posted December 16, 2019 Edouard de Rothschild has been elected with a majority to serve another four years as President of France Galop, which oversees the organisation of almost 7,300 races in France each year. The owner-breeder has already completed one term in the role since his initial appointment in 2015 and he defeated Serge Tardy in Monday’s election with 37 votes to 13. De Rothschild will have Loïc Malivet and Jacques Détré as his Vice-presidents, respectively overseeing the Flat and National Hunt committees at France Galop. The 12-strong board of France Galop has been announced as: Edouard de Rothschild, President Jacques Détré, Vice-president and president of the National Hunt committee Louis de Bourgoing, associate member Frédéric Landon, premier racecourses’ representative Lucien Matzinger, regional committees’ representative Arnaud de Seyssel, associate member Loïc Malivet, Vice-president and president of the Flat committee Nicolas Clément, trainers’ representative Jacques Cyprès, breeders’ representative Antonia Devin, owners’ representative Nicolas de Lageneste, owners’ representative Axelle Nègre de Watrigant, regional committees’ representative Jockeys’ representative Thierry Gillet and Nicolas de Chambure, representing the younger industry stakeholders, have been invited to attend board meetings but will not have voting rights.
