Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted December 16, 2019 Journalists Share Posted December 16, 2019 Amy Smith was appointed the Executive Director of Lingfield Park Resort, the Arena Racing Company (ARC) announced on Monday. Formerly the Director of Sales and Marketing at Lingfield, Smith is tasked with the overall responsibility for the racecourse business, as well as the Marriott Hotel, golf course and spa. To support Smith, Russell Bowes is the new Lingfield Park General Manager. Rebecca Davies has been promoted to Regional Executive Director and will oversee Hereford and Worcester Racecourses following Jenny Chesire’s retirement. Former Lingfield Park General Manager Michael Thomas is the new Worcester Racecourse General Manager. All four appointees begin their new roles on New Year’s Day. “We are very pleased to appoint Amy Smith as Executive Director at Lingfield Park,” said ARC Group Operationa Director Mark Spincer. ” Amy has been in the business for over seven years and we look forward to her taking the helm with the support of a dedicated team and the additional experience that Russell brings from both racecourses and other sporting venues. Michael Thomas has done a fantastic job in the last year as General Manager of Lingfield Park, and we are delighted that he will take up the new role at Worcester under the leadership of Rebecca Davies. Jenny Cheshire has been at the heart of Worcester for over 19 years and everyone at ARC would like to wish her all the best in retirement.” Said Smith, “I am very much looking forward to getting started as executive director at Lingfield Park.
