Bolt d’Oro (Medaglia d’Oro–Globe Trot, by A.P. Indy) was represented by his first reported foal Friday, Jan. 10, when a filly from Moment of Speight (Ire) (Speightstown) was born at Forever Spring Farm in Kentucky.

Bred in partnership by Forever Spring and River Oaks Farm, the bay is the first produce from her 5-year-old dam, a daughter of Irish SW and U.S. dual graded-stakes placed Shimmering Moment (Afleet Alex). The filly’s third dam Vassar (Royal Academy) is responsible for champion and two-time GI Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint hero Stormy Liberal (Stormy Atlantic), GSW Leinster (Majestic Warrior) and GISP Coast Guard (Stormy Atlantic).

“This filly has good substance and quality. She has lovely angles and is a very pretty filly,” said Matt Jackson, farm manager of Forever Spring Farm. “We’re super excited to breed back to Bolt d’Oro.”

A dual Grade I winner short and long as a 2-year-old, Bolt d’Oro won the GII San Felipe S. and was runner-up to Triple Crown winner Justify (Scat Daddy) in the GI Santa Anita Derby. The $630,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling was campaigned by Mick and Wendy Ruis and retired to stud with a record of four wins from eight starts and earnings of $1,016,000.
