Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted January 10, 2020 Journalists Share Posted January 10, 2020 Trainer Chris Anderson knows it will be hard for Profit to topple Alligator Blood but he will fight. Trainer Chris Anderson is certain if the $2 million Magic Millions Guineas turns into a rough-house affair Profit will be up for the battle. Profit is taking on the short-priced Guineas favourite Alligator Blood for the second time at the Gold Coast on Saturday. At their previous clash, Alligator Blood beat Profit by two lengths into second place in the Group Three Vo Rogue (1400m) at Eagle Farm two weeks ago. It was a comprehensive defeat but Anderson walked away from Eagle Farm buoyed by the way Profit fought out the finish after a bumping duel with third placed Eleven Eleven. “I think we bumped him first and then he got us a few times after that,” Anderson said. “Profit was having only his fifth start but he handled the pressure like a veteran. I couldn’t believe how much interference he copped. It showed me he is tough and won’t be stood over.” Anderson admitted Profit would have to find another level to beat Alligator Blood. “The Vo Rogue was a sit and sprint type race and if this time it is a real battle my bloke will be in there trying,” he said. Profit will go for a spell after the Guineas with the Australian and Queensland Derbys as his aims later this year. “The Derbys have always been our targets and it is an exciting time for us,” Anderson said. Another of Anderson’s top three-year-olds, Ballistic Boy, is back in work with a Sydney trip in mind. Ballistic Boy, who like Profit is raced by the Think Big stud, could also be a Derby horse.
