Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted January 18, 2020 Journalists Share Posted January 18, 2020 Given a 10-1 chance while making her first trip to the races Saturday at the Fair Grounds, Stonestreet homebred HENDY WOODS (f, 3, Uncle Mo–Separate Forest, by Forestry) parlayed a perfect run in transit into a one-length tally. Away without incident from gate six, Hendy Woods was agreeable to being eased back passing under the wire for the first time and settled on the back of pacesetting Fine One Won (Tiznow), who galloped them along at an even clip. Hugging the fence for the entirety of the opening six furlongs, the $95,000 Keeneland September buyback eased out into the three path in upper stretch, lugged in a bit while rallying outside of Skye Snow (Lemon Drop Kid) into the final sixteenth of a mile and edged clear late. Bred on the exact same cross responsible for champion and GI Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist and Grade III winner Auntie Joy, Hendy Woods is out of a Grade III-winning dam whose half-brother Indiano (Indian Charlie) was a multiple Panamanian champion before winning a pair of graded dirt sprints in this country. Separate Forest is the dam of a 2-year-old Street Sense colt and a yearling colt by More Than Ready. She was not bred in 2019. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0. O-Stonestreet Stables LLC; B-Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings (KY); T-Mark Casse.
