First Winner For Australia In Russia

Coolmore’s Derby winner Australia (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) had his first European runner on Saturday, Godolphin’s 370,000gns yearling purchase Beyond Reason (Ire) who finished second at Newmarket, but the sire actually recorded his first winner on the same day in Russia, with the well-bred Australian Prince winning over six furlongs at Krasnodar Hippodrome.

A homebred for Progress Stud Farm, Australian Prince represents the same Galileo over Pivotal cross of Saturday’s G1 Lockinge S. winner Rhododendron (Ire), being out of Mail Princess (GB) (Pivotal {GB}), a Russian-raced daughter of G1 Moyglare Stud S. winner Mail The Desert (Ire) (Desert Prince {Ire}). Mail Princess has produced three foals in Ireland: before Australian Prince there was Highprin (Ire), a filly by High Chaparral (Ire), and a 2015 unnamed colt by Invincible Spirit (Ire).
