Switzerland pressed the pace from the outside through a quarter-mile in :22.43, moved to gain control on the turn and braced for a challenge from Long Haul Bay (Quality Road) spinning into the foggy stretch. He had plenty left in reserve and drew clear to a three-length score over that rival, stopping the clock in 1:09.43. Switzerland graduated from the maiden ranks in his final start for Chad Brown in February and recently added a pair of six-furlong allowance wins for Steve Asmussen at Oaklawn Park Mar. 30 and Apr. 14.
