Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted January 24, 2020 Journalists Share Posted January 24, 2020 Covfefe (f, Into Mischief–Antics, by Unbridled) has proven to be much more than an entertaining name and is now a champion after taking the female sprinter category. The $250,000 KEESEP purchase’s 2019 season was highlighted by wins in the GI Test S. and GI Breeders’ Cup F/M Sprint for owner LNJ Foxwoods and trainer Brad Cox. The flashy bay will remain in training for 2020. Mitole (c, Eskendereya–Indian Miss, by Indian Charlie) dominated the male sprinter division all year and was the deserving winner of the Eclipse award in that category. A $20,000 KEESEP yearling turned $140,000 OBSAPR juvenile, the bay won six of seven starts, highlighted by the GI Met Mile and GI Breeders’ Cup Sprint. Campaigned by William & Corinne Heiligbrodt and trained by Steve Asmussen, he is now a member of the Spendthrift stallion roster.
